Voyage of the Beagle Finger Puppets

One of the pleasures of having friends with babies is that you have an excuse to make toys, like this dorked out set of felt finger puppets. From left to right: three finches (with differently shaped beaks), Charlie Darwin himself, and the famous Galapagos tortoise.

If you want to make your own (maybe in anticipation of the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of the Species this November?) please feel free to use my template, below.

Hi there,

I am writing from the UK - I would like to invite you to take part in an exhibition - do you have an email address I can send the information to?

I really look forward to hearing from you soon,

Best wishes,

Because of your interest in handcraft and the natural world, I wanted to alert you to Margaret Wertheim's talk for TED, and her crocheted coral reef project. I imagine that you already know about it and might even be involved, but just in case: http://blog.ted.com/2009/04/crocheting_in_h.php

I'm going to be posting on Darwin-related projects this week in the Cabinet of Wonders, and hope you don't mind if I link the puppets. They're wonderful.

Hello!
Looks like you're in great demand over here in the UK! I write for Inside Crochet magazine, we'd really really love to feature your blog, etsy shop and the feature on SuperNaturale in our "Crochet on the net" page...
Could you drop me an email back (alice@kalmedia.co.uk) it would be great to hear from you.
Best,
Alice
